Megan Gallagher is a 2x TED Talk Speaker, #1 Best-Selling Author, AfterBuzz TV Host, and the host for Anxiety Advocate for Teens + Podcast. Megan grew up struggling with severed chronic anticipatory anxiety and panic attacks. Despite having a support system of family and friends, Megan felt alone. Her lack of understanding on mental health issues, self love and being in-tune with her body, made Megan a prisoner in her mind from ages 6 to 17. In High School, Megan started experiencing up to 20 panic attacks a day and she was having a hard time balancing her social life, academics and personal life. Everywhere Megan went, she always had a feeling of constant dread and worry. Despite her own struggles, Megan loved helping others and was the advice giver of her friend group. Schools have speakers assemblies on peer pressure, say no to drugs and how to prepare for College. However, schools do not provide awareness on mental health, finding your passions, loving yourself or how EVERY teen feels overwhelmed about grades, body and what they are going to do in their life! When Megan turned 14, she realized that she needed help. Megan spoke to her parents down and shared her feelings of anxiety and panic attacks. Soon after, Megan started counseling , exercise and other healthy routines. As a result, Megan's anxiety and panic attacks dissipated. Today Meghan speaks at Middle and High Schools across the Country on anxiety, self love and how teens can be in tune with their body. Megan has worked hard to create the space that she desperately craved growing up. Megan believes that having open, honest and positive conversations is what this generation of teenagers need; and that some people are put on this earth to help, heal and be a change agent in other people’s lives.
