Determining the good ones
The amount of people offering coaching and personal development is overwhelming. How can we sift through and find the right one for us? The first thing to look for is if they practice what they preach. If someone says they can make you a millionaire, but they’re not, then they probably aren’t the best resource. Most people who go into this business have good intentions, but that doesn’t mean they’re the best option for you.
You have to look at someone’s track record and what they do behind the scenes. That will tell you so much more about someone than anything they can say. Someone needs to be genuine. They need to not be all about the glitz and glam.
Manifesting successfully
Manifesting is putting your mind on what you want and believing you can get it. To master manifesting, you have to think you’re worth it. You absolutely have to sit down and repeat that you’re worthy of having love and success. If you don’t, even when you get those things, you’re likely to set about destroying it. Marisa has worked with countless rockstars and movie stars who don’t feel worthy and she’s seen them destroy what they have. So whatever you want, you must start with the belief that you’re worthy of it.
You have to be prepared to work hard. If you don’t work, your plan won’t work. If you want a great job, get qualified. If you want a great person in your life, get out of the house and go to where great people are. The perfect person isn’t going to just show up. The ideal job isn’t going to appear in your inbox. People who are super successful and famous still have to do things they don’t want to do to get where they want.
The meaning of happiness
Happiness isn’t a destination; happiness is internal. You have to decide that you’re happy. Happiness is changing your perspective. Rather than being happy “when” something occurs, be happy right now. If you can decide to be happy right now where you are, you’ll learn to find happiness all the time. It’s a choice that you always have to make, even in the most challenging situations. If you give someone else permission to have the job of making you feel good, they can step away from that at any point. But when you do it, no one can take that away.
Marisa’s father was a principal, and her mother was a hypochondriac. While her father was fulfilled in his role at the school, her mother was dramatic and unhappy. As a small child, Marisa knew that you had to have a job to be fulfilled. She knew that she needed to find a job that would bring her joy and purpose. Marisa didn’t see a good relationship. Her father taught her that life is about helping other people. Marisa took that to heart. Her job now gives her as much as she provides anyone else.
